Amalia Abecassis, a San Francisco native who currently resides in Los Angeles, is an undergrad at Stanford University. She brings a deep enthusiasm for exploring history and fostering connections.

Amalia's journey into the world of research began with her self-directed independent project, "Art & Plunder: Through the Lens of the Holocaust." In this initiative, she undertook the monumental task of designing an 83-page high school curriculum on art looted during the Holocaust. Her curriculum, which focuses on provenance research, digital technology, and archival documentation, serves as a testament to her drive to preserve history and educate others. This initiative also led her to partnerships with renowned institutions such as the Louvre and the Jewish Digital Cultural Recovery Project (JDCRP), showcasing her commitment to fostering collaboration in academia.

Her role as a Research Fellow and Intern at the Holocaust Museum of Los Angeles, combined with her active engagement with the David Labkovski Project, demonstrates her determination to honor history and amplify the voices of Holocaust survivors. She curated exhibits, led docent tours, and contributed to publications, displaying a multifaceted approach to preserving and sharing Holocaust narratives.

As she embarks on her next adventure as an intern at the Louvre Museum in Paris, her enthusiasm for learning and her passion for preserving history will undoubtedly continue to shape her path.
